Before the was a book, there was silence.
The kind that sits heavy in a room.
The kind people pretend not to notice.
The kind that slowly teaches you how to survive
without ever speaking the truth out loud.
For years, I carried what happened quietly.
Trying to protect my family.
Trying to understand how life could fracture so
suddenly and leave pieces of it scattered everywhere.
From the outside, life looked normal.
But survival has a way of changing you.
Still, I Remain was born from those years — from the
truth I could no longer keep buried.
It is a memoir about trauma, survival, family, and the
quiet strength it takes to keep standing when
everything you believed about love and safety begins
to unravel.
I didn’t write this story because it was easy.
I wrote it because silence had already taken enough.
About the Author
I was born and raised on the Gulf Coast of Mississippi, where salt air, strong storms, and resilient people helped shape who I would become. I grew up loving books and stories, always imagining I would one day write my own. I once thought I would do it much earlier in life—but now I believe that stories arrive when we are ready to tell them.
Before back injuries changed my pace, I loved riding horses and the freedom that came with it. I still find that same sense of freedom in swimming, in the thrill of fast cars, and in quiet moments under the sun—especially tanning with my twin, a ritual filled with laughter, comfort, and connection.
I now live on a farm outside of Mississippi with my husband, children, and our dogs. What some might call isolation, I call peace. The land has taught me the beauty of stillness, privacy, and healing. I enjoy hunting, mud riding when the fields are soaked just right, and most of all, taking care of my family. I am deeply protective of those I love and deeply committed to my husband.
Where I was once loud, outspoken, and carefree, life has reshaped me into someone quieter—more observant, more mindful of my surroundings. Not smaller. Just steadier.
I wrote this book in the hopes that it reaches other victims and survivors who feel alone in their silence. I hold a deep belief in faith and continue to pray for justice—not only for myself, but for others who carry stories they have not yet spoken. I believe that telling the truth can create space for someone else to step forward in their own.
Beyond my hobbies, my greatest role is being a wife, a mother, and a survivor who is no longer afraid to speak. As I continue my healing journey, I hope to one day advocate for others walking similar paths—offering strength, understanding, and proof that survival does not have to mean silence.
This is my first book, and it will not be my last. What began as one story has grown into a multi-part journey, shaped in part by the outcome and length of ongoing court proceedings. However long the road becomes, I am committed to walking it honestly.
Above all, I write with warmth, faith, and quiet strength—believing that even the softest voice can carry truth far enough to change a life.
This book is not the end of the story.
It is the beginning of speaking plainly about what many endure in silence. Writing became a way to make sense of what felt senseless — to hold truth steady even when circumstances felt unstable.
If even one reader feels less alone because of these pages, then the risk of telling the story was worth it.
If the words feel familiar,
let them remind you:
Your voice matters too.
